International Finals Youth Rodeo Hosts ‘Spur for the Cure’ Pink Night Benefiting Shawnee Relay for Life
The 24th annual International Finals Youth Rodeo is proud to present Spur for the Cure Pink Night on Tuesday, July 12 during the 7:30 p.m. performance. IFYR is a week-long event running July 10-15 at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center, 1700 W. Independence, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
The Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center is donating five percent of the proceeds from Pink Night’s ticket sales to the Shawnee Relay for Life organization, sanctioned by the American Cancer Society.
IFYR competitors and fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of cancer awareness. The winners of each event during the Tuesday night performance will have a chance to win $100 bonus cash if they are also wearing pink.
“The 2015 IFYR Pink Night yielded a $4,000 donation to Shawnee Relay for Life and we hope to top that this year,” said Chris Dunlap, Assistant Director of Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center and International Finals Youth Rodeo. “We hope everyone will come out to the Rodeo and support these young competitors and our community by raising awareness and funds to fight this terrible disease.”
The first 500 people to walk through the gates for the Tuesday night performance will receive a free pink Spur for the Cure T-shirt donated by sponsors Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Benchmark Realty, Gilbert Insurance Agency, Gilbert & Sons Trucking, Heritage Embroidery, Rainmaker Sales and Visit Shawnee, Inc.
Tickets to Spur for the Cure Pink Night and to all other IFYR performances can be purchased starting July 8, at the will call window at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center.
